Artistic Review

As photography teacher at Pittsburg High Bryan Farley has been taking photographs of what he says "still trying to give voice to the voiceless by creating a dynamic flat image". Living with an "invisible disability" Epilepsy he will demonstrate the art of showing whats not visible, visible for everyones else's eyes.Through the art of photography Farley relates with many people using such concepts as children, families, and things that are not as visible as others.

While observing his website, something that was clear throughout the page was the connecting he has with children and people in general. Looking at all the images involving children, the connection between the photographer and the person being photographed tell us many things about the person taking the picture and the way he treats people around him. his images show stories that are not being told or explained by anyone, you could make up your own description about whats going on at the moment where the photo was taken.

An image caught my attention was the one with the toe men hugging, San Marin Basketball Season Ends This image can tell you what was happening at the moment without having to be there at that exact moment. Just by looking at the image you get a feeling of emotion happening when they hugged each other  you could tell that they were happy for something that had just occurred maybe the winning of a basketball game.

Another image that stood out out of all his fantastic peaces of art was in the love's promise gallery were he took many images of nature and flowers. These photographs are shown as a great example of something invisible being shown as visible. sometimes we walk around out in the nature and never noticed the beautiful things nature has to offer, for example these photos which show the true beauty of nature (http://bryanfarley.photoshelter.com/gallery/Loves-Promise/G0000.uA3EJw3F5Y/)To notice the amazing work of art that have been posted for everyone else to view you need to take a look at this well portrayed website.(http://www.bryanfarley.com/)

Cropping for Better Composition 2

The original photo was taken with the purpose of creating an image using leading lines. The second image was cropped making the lines more visible. The lines lead the viewers eyes to the main subject of the image.

The first cropped image is using leading lines. The palm trees are lined up next to each other, showing a path leading to the bridge. The path is leading the viewer to the main subject which is the bridge. The road is also a leading line leading the viewer to the same pace as the palm trees.

Leading lines are also shown on this second image the girls pants have lines that lead the viewers eye to the bubbles. The main subjects in this photo are the bubbles.

Camera Review

Canon T3i

The canon T3i is an excellent camera. This camera is easy to use and takes amazing photos and HD 1800 videos. The camera controls are very easy to manage and this camera is very good for any level of photographer, especially beginners. The EOS Rebel T3i has an 18.0 Megapixel CMOS sensor that captures images with exceptional clarity and tonal range and offers more than enough resolution for big enlargements or crops.

Yosemite and Photography

Pop Laval, a Central Valley photographer, started photographing Yosemite nearly 100 years ago. How did he make money? Did Yosemite pay him?

  • Pop Laval made money by photographing many different places including Yosemite. He was paid to photograph Yosemite.

Who makes the most interesting photographs of Yosemite now? How are the images created? Are photographers paid to photograph Yosemite? If you were photographing Yosemite, what would you do? What would you want to do?

  • Gary Hart makes some very interesting photographs today. Gary is an experienced  and enthusiastic trainer and guide who conducts photo workshops and private photo tours. Photographers are not paid to photograph Yosemite unless it involves something professional. If I were to photograph Yosemite i would like to capture its beauty and and transfer that sense of nature that it gives.
